Ah, okay - I misunderstood. It thought you were saying that particular embryo had a 70% chance of continuing to a pregnancy.
*pg mentioned*
That's pretty good odds you know, and I'm proof that miracles do happen. I only had three eggs retrieved, two fertilised, two implanted and one successful pg. I don't have any frozen embryos for future cycles so I am glad that one embie stuck! I don't know if my story helps or adds more frustration (not the intention BTW). I shall continue to cross my fingers for you xx _________________

Sorry that should say two "transferred" not implanted. I wish it was as easy as guaranteeing an implantation! _________________

Oh no I had that and it is not nice. I guess at least it happened now and not when you were pregnant or with a new born at home.
Take care of yourself, rest up as best you can. |

Thanks so much Camelia, it definitely helps to know I am not alone in this problem. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better too. I haven't had loads of blood tests and I haven't seen a fertility specialist yet either, my GP has just been doing day 21 progesterone and a bunch of other hormones. She has also recommended I have a hysterosalpingogram (HSG?) to flush out my tubes but I haven't had this yet either.
I saw a naturopath as well, and she has given me a bunch of powders and tablets and stuff to start taking, which is meant to bring all my hormones back into balance, and I'm on a special diet now too. I think I will give that a go for a couple of months and if still no improvement I think I will have the HSG done and get a referral to a specialist, and perhaps try the clomid.
Miss Tam I saw your other thread about your homeopath and acupuncturist and I think I might give them a call too, so I can see if the natural therapies will benefit me at all first before getting onto the drugs. _________________

ow girls its so awful that you have to go through this IVF business... being a nurse...i can only imagine what it would be like to go through the procedures, and i can understand how it must feel so 'clinical' and 'rushed' not a nice feeling at all.
i hope that your IVF is a speedy step in the journey to motherhood.
OF that is a bit exciting giggle...congrats on making that decision
ive been all about googling baby things atm, its not good, infact im sure its bad luck so i must stop myself! _________________ [url=http://www.weddingcountdown.com]

Thanks for your kind words, paisley
Yes, I wouldn't wish IVF on anyone, but I keep reminding myself that we're so lucky to live in a time where we have this technology available. It truly is wonderful.
I probably painted a pretty bad picture yesterday, but it was the first suboptimal experience I've had since I started with my clinic in March, so I hope I haven't scared anyone off!
It was only rushed because there had been a massive delay in theatre earlier, otherwise it would have been a different experience. Oh and I'm pretty comfortable with it being 'clinical' given that I'm a doctor, lol, but it's certainly an eye-opener being on the patient side of the fence!!
Have fun googling baby stuff! Sounds like you will be needing some things very soon! |

| Quote: | 1) Any signs that the pill is finally out of your system? I've been off five months and in the last month I have had really bad skin (heaps of pimples) which is not usual for me so i'm wondering if the pill is finally flushed out.

You haven't mentioned what type of contraceptive other than pill. I know from my experience with being on Depo, it took 7 months for my cycle to return and then another 3 to actually start ovulating (according to the bloods)... I did conceive in April but then miscarried in May. My cycle has returned but I don't know if I am ovulating or not so think I will wait till next cycle before going down the bloods path again.
I think if you are really worried, go see the doctor and get the referral for your blood test and get it checked out _________________

Thanks for your advice Digsynat. Sorry I wasn't more clear.... yes, it was the birth control pill (Trifeme) that i was on and I stopped in the beginning of March.
I have spoken to the Doctor but he is hesitant to do anything more yet. |
